Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal and many other renowned choirs from Quebec, Canada and around the world have had the opportunity to perform in the Basilica – a superb choral concert space with its great beauty and exceptional acoustics. The Country Day School Choir

May 5th 1:30pm

The Country Day School Senior Choir is made up of students from grade 9 through 12. The choir rehearses twice a week in the early morning. Performing everything from classics from the choral repertoire through to recent pop tunes, this choir invites anyone with an interest in singing to come out and take part. Today the choir is happy to have members of our Senior Concert Band join us to sing in the concert.

Essence of Joy

May 12th, 3:30pm

Essence of Joy, a choral ensemble in the Penn State School of music, was organized in 1991 by Anthony Leach to perform sacred and secular music from the African and African-American choral traditions. Dr. Anthony Leach is professor of music at Penn State. He is a respected adjudicator and guest conductor. His choirs have performed at festivals throughout the United States and Canada and have toured internationally in Europe, Asia and South Africa. He is a guest accompanist for many choirs, and was co-conductor of the 2004 World Youth choir sponsored by the international Federation of Choral Musicians in South Korea.  The recital by Essence of Joy promises to be spiritual and engaging.

Lynnfield Middle School Pioneer Singers

May 22nd, 2pm

The Lynnfield Middle School Pioneer Singers are the advanced student singers and musical ambassadors of Lynnfield Middle School.  The group was created in 1998 for the world premiere of Walter Robinson's gospel opera Moses at Boston's Cutler Majestic Theatre.  Since their appearances in two Moses productions, the group has performed throughout Greater Boston and New England, while their annual concert tours have taken them to cities throughout the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States, Quebec and Ontario.

The Pioneer Singers' diverse choral repertoire includes original commissioned music by Boston-area composers. Known for their renditions of the American and Canadian National Anthems, the group has been selected to perform for prominent New England sports teams and other organizations.  As one of the most active student choirs in the region, the Pioneer Singers have also received recognition from the Massachusetts State House for their musical legacy.

Amarillo Boy Concert Choir

June 6th 3pm

The Amarillo Boy Concert Choir was organized in 1989 and is known nationally and internationally. During its history, the  Amarillo Boy Concert Choir has performed with the Vienna Boy Choir, Austria’s Wiltener Boy Choir, England’s  Southend Boys Choir, The American Boy Choir and more. They have also performed for descendants of Hawaiian royalty. Other past performances include St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York City, the United Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, a Netherlands television documentary, and by special invitation for the Texas Convention in Little Rock, Arkansas, twice for the American Choral Director Association Leadership Conference, and for the American Choral Director Association National Convention in Miami, Florida. The Amarillo  Boy Concert Choir has also had the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City under the direction of noted composer, Bob Chilcott.

Concordia Youth Chorale

Concordia Youth Chorale is a girls’ chorale from central New Jersey USA. The Chorale has performed 6 concert tours in Europe, England and Ireland, and has sung frequently at Carnegie Hall NYC and St. Patrick’s Cathedral NYC. The chorale toured Canada in 2009. The Chorale specializes in classical music, contemporary classics and Afro-American spirituals. The Chorale is directed by husband and wife team, John and Cynthia Balme.
