Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal and many other renowned choirs from Quebec, Canada and around the world have had the opportunity to perform in the Basilica – a superb choral concert space with its great beauty and exceptional acoustics. Fox Chapel Area Highj School Orchestra

April 12th, 11am

Led by Mairi Cooper, 2015 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year, Fox Chapel Area Orchestra  has a long history of music-making. The touring group is comprised of approximately  40 students. These students have been fortunate to work with artists such as Maestro Honeck and Noseda and have performed in exquisite venues from Heinz hall in Pittsburg, PA to Notre-Dame Basilica in Montréal.

Bishop Grandin Concert Choir

April 20th, 3pm
The Bishop Grandin High School Choral program has 125 students enrolled in choir this year and is directed by Melissa Townley-Smith. The Ensemble Singers are a group of 20 auditionned students selected from the Senior Choir. Wheteher in Junior or Senior Choir, each Bishop Grandin Singer is commited to share the joy of singing whenever they have opportunity, and they enjoy performing on both  a local and national level. The award winning Grandin choirs have a long standing reputation for excellence, and are blessed to have the support of a great choral Team, including Joe Oberhoffner, Manuel Correia & Ashley Rosales. Special thanks to our accompanist. The choir would also like to acknowledge the wonderful  parent volunteers and alumni members who support the program year after year!

Somerville High School A Capella Choir

April 27th, 2:30pm

The Somerville High School A Cappella Choir from Somerville, New Jersey is a 60 voice curricular choir comprised of students in grades eleven and twelve. The ensemble is not auditioned, however, prior high school singing is required. A Capella choir performs a wide variety of SATB ( soprano, alto, tenor, bass ) literature in several concerts throughout the year. In addition to striving for musical excellence, these selfless choral students seek to make a difference in the lives of others by using their collective talents in charitable ways. Food pantry items are often collected as concert admission and fundraisers are held for such organizations as the American Cancer Society, Camp Quality, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, ALS Association, as well as for individuals and families facing challenging circumstances. The choir is under the direction of Mrs Karen S. Gorzynski.

Bangor Area Children's Choir

April 28th, 3:30pm

The members of Bangor Area Children’s Choir attend seventeen different schools in the region of Bangor, Maine. In addition to their own concerts featuring challenging repertoire from the Middle Ages to newly commissioned compositions they have recently sung La Bohème, Carmina Burana, and The Nutcracker with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra.

Essence of Joy

May 12th, 3:30pm

Essence of Joy, a choral ensemble in the Penn State School of music, was organized in 1991 by Anthony Leach to perform sacred and secular music from the African and African-American choral traditions. Dr. Anthony Leach is professor of music at Penn State. He is a respected adjudicator and guest conductor. His choirs have performed at festivals throughout the United States and Canada and have toured internationally in Europe, Asia and South Africa. He is a guest accompanist for many choirs, and was co-conductor of the 2004 World Youth choir sponsored by the international Federation of Choral Musicians in South Korea.  The recital by Essence of Joy promises to be spiritual and engaging.
