Saturday, November 7th at 2pm and 7:30pm.
This is, without a doubt, the musical event of the autumn. Conducted by Maestro Michel Brousseau, the 200 artists of the Société Philharmonique du Nouveau Monde perform Mozart's Requiem in one of Montreal's most breathtaking settings — the Basilica's nave.
Returning to the majestic Notre-Dame de Montréal Basilica, the Société philharmonique du Nouveau Monde (SPNM) is delighted to continue the tradition for a 22th year, with its presentation of Mozart's sublime Requiem. Conducted by Michel Brousseau, this concert will take place on Saturday November 7th at 2 p.m. & 7:30pm Mozart's musical jewel in Montreal's architectural setting.
Over 200 artists from the SPNM orchestra and choir will be on stage, along with guest soloists Ania Hejnar (soprano), Stéphanie Pothier (mezzo-soprano) Jean-Michel Richer (tenor) and Alexandre Sylvestre (bass).
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's landmark Requiem continues to arouse great enthusiasm among lovers of fine music. Conducted with intensity and sensitivity by Michel Brousseau in this masterful work that pays homage to the composer's musical genius, the artists will bring you a whole range of emotions.
To pay tribute to Mozart—one of music history’s most renowned child prodigies—the #SPNM has the privilege of welcoming a young artist whose talent and musical maturity are already impressing audiences. Young pianist Annie Lee, just 11 years old, will perform the opening set of the Mozart *Requiem* concert on November 7 at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, under the baton of Maestro Michel Brousseau. Annie will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21, "Elvira Madigan."
🎼 This performance is part of a partnership with Steinway & Sons, following a competition won by this remarkable young artist.
