Accessibility

The Notre-Dame Basilica is a Kéroul certified partially accessible location. Please consult our fact sheet on Kéroul's website for more information on the accessibility of our facilities.

We also accept the Companion Leisure Card (CAL) which grants free admission to the accompanying party of a disabled person and is recognized by leisure, cultural and tourist organizations.

The city's project is progressively implemented from the summer 2024 until 2030.

The City of Montréal is undertaking several redevelopment projects around
Notre-Dame Basilica to enhance pedestrian access and improve convivial
modes of transportation in the area.

While these projects are underway, we hope to facilitate your trip as much as possible.

Note that Bixi stations, bus stops, vehicular access and parking may be impacted.
Whenever possible, we encourage you to walk and take public transit towards our site to alleviate the impact of congestion in the area and facilitate your arrival.

Here are some redevelopment and construction projects that you may want to
consider as you plan your next trip to the Basilica:

  • A permanent pedestrian zone is established in front of the Basilica on Notre-
    Dame West
  • Construction sites remain active on Saint-Paul West between Saint-Laurent and Saint François-Xavier.
  • Repairs along Saint-Urbain by the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable are ongoing, with street closures expected between Viger West and Saint-Antoine West until 2026.

For the latest updates, we invite you to consult the City of Montréal's Construction
and Traffic Obstructions Map, or contact the Ville-Marie borough at 311 or 514 872-0311.
